We’re parents too. We know what shopping with little ones can be like, so we’re happy to provide family-friendly services for you and your kids.

Family Parking

Loading kids and packages isn't always easy, so take advantage of our designated family parking spots. They’re close to entrances and make it easier for expectant mothers and families with small children to visit our shopping center.

Family parking is available at most ground floor entrances.

Play Space

Head to the children's Play Space and let your little ones have a ball while you keep a close eye on the action. Kids can climb and explore the bright, colorful area filled with oversized play elements, large puzzles, and plenty of space to stretch those active little legs, as well as their imagination.

Children are required to be supervised by an adult at all times. Children must be shorter than 42 inches to play in the Play Space. No food or drinks allowed. Children must remove shoes before playing. Please park all strollers in Stroller Parking.

The Hawthorn Play Space is located by JCPenney, Lower Level.

Family Lounge

Looking for a quiet place to relax, recharge, or just catch your breath? The Family Lounge is a comfortable spot where you and your little ones can take a break from shopping. This special area for families, private nursing areas, and baby changing stations.

Mall Walking

Register by emailing Info@shophawthornmall.com to let us know you’d like to sign up for Hawthorn’s mall walking program, Hawthorn Hikers, for health and fitness events. Mall Doors typically open around 7:30am Monday-Sunday at the SW entrance nearest Maggiano’s. Walking the entire lower level and upper level of the center is 1.15 miles.

Smarte Carte Strollers

Hawthorn offers Smarte Carte® strollers to make shopping with your children easy and fun. The colorful vehicle-themed strollers help keep children happy, comfortable and safe while adults shop. Choose from the race car-themed single stroller or fire truck-themed double stroller.

Smarte Carte self-serve stroller vending units accept credit cards or cash.

Smarte Carte strollers feature:

Plenty of space for personal items and purchases
Two convenient cup holders and a snack tray
A moving steering wheel to keep little hands occupied
Lap safety belt
